Program: Rose-Mary Rumbley and Jill Beam
Rose-Mary Rumbley is a well-known book reviewer, author, lecturer, storyteller — a Dallas Icon and a Texas Legend! Jill Beam is a singer, dancer, entertainer, Ms. Texas Senior in 2015, and the daughter of Rose-Mary Rumbley. Put these two together and you have two generations presenting a program filled with fun, laughter, and the very best in entertainment!

Program: Skip Hollandsworth, Speaker
Walter Ned “Skip” Hollandsworth is an American author, journalist, screenwriter, and executive editor for Texas Monthly magazine. His true crime history, The Midnight Assassin, was on the NY Times Best-Seller List. In 2010, Skip won the National Magazine Award for Feature Writing from the American Society of Magazine Editors.

Meetings

Friends meets regularly five times each year – September, October, February, April and May, in addition to special events. Unless otherwise noted, all meetings are held in the Community Room of the Rockwall County Library, 1215 E. Yellow Jacket Lane, Rockwall, Texas 75087.

All meetings and special events are open to the community but reservations are required.

  • A $20 luncheon reservation includes meeting, program and buffet luncheon.
  • To attend the meeting and program only (without lunch), reservations are required and a fee of $5.00 will be charged. Reservations without lunches are limited to ten (10) and will be closed when this number is reached.
  • Unless a luncheon reservation is cancelled by 5:00 pm Tuesday the week prior to meeting date, payment is required.
